Bus Stop Selfie

Posted on January 21, 2015 by

Rounding out this month with my last layout and using those gold glasses that I wish I had 100 of!!!
It is Mary-Ann, sharing with you a daily activity that happens every school morning.
We don't take a selfie "every" day but we take them often.
This one is fun and we sent it to my niece on her birthday.
For this layout, I used the ADD-ON KIT only.
eeeeek, those glasses, those bows, those letters! I {heart} them all.
I framed the "Little Moments" sticker with the glasses to highlight it.
A splash of blue paint finished it off.
You know, I have had a lot of fun with January's kit and really look forward to February.
Again, I am truly honored to be here and hope you can take a little something away from my creations.
See you next month.

Hooray, and three cheers for the January Scrapbook Kit! There are so many possibilities for layering and utilizing all of the embellishments. I want to share two more of the pages I made for this month with you all...

The first one is called "hooray." I punched some mini hearts out of cardstock to scatter across the page, splattered some gold ink, and layered a couple of flower stickers. Pulling all of these elements together was a breeze and so much fun.

You may have seen the next layout, "hello cute,"on reveal day....

I wanted to show it up a little closer. The punched squares lent themselves perfectly to a quilted look when sewn to the page. Again, lots of layering... this time mostly with different kinds of patterned paper.

What kind of layering do you have planned with your January kits? And what has you saying, "hooray," in the New Year? I'd love to hear all about it!

Best Ever: January Kit

Posted on January 16, 2015 by

Today I'm sharing with you a layout using both the January Main Scrapbooking Kit and the Add-On Kit. Each of them have lovely elements alone, but I really love combing them, too.  Ria puts such beautiful kits together with tons of texture and embellishments.

Two of my favorite things this month are these lovely, delicate wood veneer words and this turquoise ribbon.

Webster's Pages and Dear Lizzy both have colors and designs that go so well together! Keep an eye out for the next kit release and don't hesitate! They sell out super fast!

Check out these gold thickers!!  So much fun to use!  Happy Scrapping, Friends!

Best Babysitters Ever!

Posted on January 13, 2015 by

Hi folks, Mary-Ann here.
I am from New England, and here, we often drop the "r" off the end of words.
So when you read this title, you should be reading it like this, "Best Babysittas Evah!
Recently, a sketch challenge has been added to the blog.  Did you see it?
This weeks layout is based loosely on that sketch.
I used both the main kit and the add-on.
Can you see the similarities?
I find that a sketch is a great jumping off point and then you can use your own style to add to it.
You should give it a try.  Paper Camellia offers a new sketch is every month.
Here are some close ups of my layout and journaling.
So folks, I highly suggest you try using this months sketch as jumping off point or as your design.
See you next week.

Love this - layout and a ”making of” video

Posted on January 12, 2015 by

Hi there, it’s Veera here. This is my first post here on Paper Camellia's blog and I couldn’t be more excited! This month I worked with the January main kit and just loved every piece of it!

The main kit is full of bright pink and turquoise, but I wanted to make a layout with lighter tones. This kit is so versatile! For this layout I chose to use the lighter papers and then bring contrast with bolder colored embellishments.

I filmed the making process and you can see the video below (or if the embedded video doesn’t work, you can check it out from this link). I hope you like it!

I hope I inspired you to use the lighter colors on your layouts while using your January’s kit!
