Davis Selfies

Posted on December 10, 2015 by

Hi everyone, I wanted to share the layout I created using the December Main kit.  These kits are definitely some of my favorites, and I loved the page I created of my son's selfies he posted to my phone.

Here are some closeups.

I love the fun colors in this kit, along with the great embellishments.  Thanks for visiting the blog today!

Fussy Cutting Fool

Posted on November 21, 2015 by

Hello my name is Elizabeth, and I love fussy cutting. Ok, not the actual cutting out intricate designs by hand part.. but the part where you can layer and arrange those pieces around the page.. count me in. When I see a glorious flower print like the one below I grab my scissors and get to work. I even love the way a bit of a borders left on looks.

Once everything is adhered in place I go through and bend or curl up some of the edges. This gives a cool dimension to the layout that it wouldn't have had if I had not been a fussy cutting fool. (not to be confused with cotton headed ninnymuggins.)

and because I just finished up my projects & these December kits are SO good I wanted to share a little December sneak.. Oh look, more cutting! I can't wait to share the rest!

Stay Sweet Forever

Posted on October 19, 2015 by

Hello everyone!  I have a minimal 8 1/2 by 11 layout for you.

From the second I opened this kit I knew I was going to need to use it as a full background.  I didn't want to take away from the paper too much so I just made a nice minimally scrapped page.  This is actually one of my favorite ways to create pages.

I loved the alphas that came with the main scrapbook kit this time as well.  That larger scripty word set is so fun.  It was fun to put it on the page in a little bit up a scrunched up shape.  Almost as though it was hand written.

With all the different colors and patterns I had going on I wanted to keep the photo from getting lost on the page.  The original photo had all different shades of pink with that blown out background.  It sort of blended into the pinks and the green vellum.  Making it black and white helped it to pop.  Adding a white and gold frame draws your eye right to it.

Thank you for stopping by to have a look!  Have a lovely day!

Happy Monday!  Jennifer here today to share a layout I created using the goodies from October's Main Kit.  I love how the colors from My Mind's Eye "My Story" and Dear Lizzy's "Documentary" go so well together!
The Dear Lizzy Snapshot Word Thickers are one of my favorite embellishments from the kit!  I chose the word "Wish" for my title as well as added a star at the top of my page. I think the black really "pops" against the more muted colors of the papers!
You also receive a mixed bag of ephemera from MME's "My Story" collection! I layered a few of the pieces at the top of my photo.  You can also spy some enamel hearts and triangles from Pink Paislee's Memorandum line! Love the little tidbits of gold!
I used the pink letter stickers from Elle's Studio on the side of my photo and stitched through. I love how the color compliments the pinks in the patterned papers! I added some paint splatters as well as black enamel dots from my stash.
The Main Kit also has yellow and pink ribbon included in your embellishments!  I added a snip of the pink to one of the Memorandum gold frames!
Thanks for stopping by today! You can check out all of October's kits by visiting the Paper Camellia shop!  Have a wonderful day!

a little sand and sun

Good morning!  Brenda here with my last layout with this months main scrapbook kit.  I think this one was my absolute favorite.  The Crate "Bright" paper was perfect for cutting out my title.  Honestly, the first time I saw that paper I knew exactly what I was going to do with it.

Don't you just love those gold alphas, too? They are so fun and add the right amount of funky to the page.  Basically they fit my little girl to a "t".

Thank you for stopping by to have a look!  Hope you have a fantabulous day.

Cardstock Starting Point

Posted on September 18, 2015 by

Hello there! Elizabeth here to share my September projects with you. This month I found myself grabbing a sheet on plain white cardstock for every page. It serves as a great starting point and opens up the design possibilities. Mixing and matching lovely papers from the kits is one of the best parts of the process, in my opinion. Here's what I came up with...

Thanks for letting me share my work. Post up in the gallery with your pages and I'll take a peek at what you've been making. You all inspire me!

Coulter Family Fun!

Posted on August 07, 2015 by

Good morning!  I am a huge fan of sketches and this layout happens to be based on the sketch from this month.  You can go HERE to take a look at a couple different takes on it.  Let's take a look at my sketch and how changed it up a bit.

You can from the above photos that I flipped the sketch and had the heaviness over to the right instead of the left.  I did feel that I needed an anchor and added paper to the left side for balance.

I painted the wood veneer dark blue to help bring in the dark blue letters that are available in the scrapbooking kit.

I also interpreted the sketch onto a card.  For this card, I left the heaviness to the left.  The card is pretty simple but still very cute to send to a friend.
