Hello, It’s Veera. Today I want to show you a little notebook I made with Paper Camellia’s September Main Scrapbook kit. That gold striped speciality paper from Crate Paper was perfect for making a notebook cover! The paper was sturdy enough to hold all the other papers together.
I decorated the cover with the alpha thickers and a cluster of stickers. I used a bit of extra glue for adhering. This way I can make sure that the embellishments will stay in place.
For the inside pages I used mainly copy paper and some pattern papers from the kit. As the purpose of this book is really to be a notebook I didn’t decorate the inside pages.
Have you tried making notebooks?
This summer has been an absolute whirlwind. The only thing missing was my husband. He has been gone for training for several months since we moved to Virginia. The one month he was able to be home with us (August) we spent as much time as we could out doing things together. Boating, hiking, fishing...whatever we could find close to us. I decided to use one of my blank Moleskines to document these adventures. So far I only have the first trip in it but I will fill it up as I have time with the rest of the day trips.
Here is the stash of stuff I pulled from the awesome Main kit to use for this book.
Just looking at all the pretty things in one place ready to be used makes me happy. I couldn't wait to get started.
All of the following images were taken as I was putting it together so you can see a bit of my process as well as the details.
I wanted to keep this book fairly simple but pretty. I think I managed that. Now I have a good template to look back on as I finish the book out.
I originally just glued this down but after putting everything else in the book, I realized it wouldn't stay well so I sewed it on at the end. The main photo shows that. I used my sewing machine but you could easily hand sew it.
When placing the pretty paper border on, I made sure to leave a little room for the fold. I didn't want the paper to tear as I opened and closed the book later on.
That is is so far. I love how it is coming out. This will be a lot of fun to thumb through over the next few years especially since we don't know how long we will be in Virginia. I want to remember it all.
Are you all in love with the March kits like I am? Seriously! Every piece from these kits just called to me. They are absolute perfection.
Now, I had never really thought to do an album about me till now. I have seen these beautiful albums where amazing women have put together albums all about the things they love, see, do and feel. Right now seems to be the perfect time for me to pour my heart into this kind of project. You see, life is a bit upside down in our household right now. In truth, I am tired, stressed and a little bit worn out. A large move across the country plus the knowledge that everything is going to change has me feeling a little less, well, me. This pretty album was just the right ticket to remind me that I am who I am, no matter what is going on in my life. So here you are. Ready to have a look at who I am? what and who I love?
Today I am going to share the cover, first page and first spread.
products used: Papers from the main kit, bits from the March add-on, pieces of the embellishment add-on
Tune in next time for another spread or two all about my love for coffee and silly selfies. (ok, so I don't like selfies but I think my kids will appreciate them. So I suffer. *hehe)
