I was procrastinating on the last of the packing. Can you tell? It was hard to not just drop everything and play with the kids and take photos of things I wanted to remember. This was our first home. The only home our kids had known. The floor with its dings and stains. The funky front windows. The bed in my room where Kaitlyn would hang out and play while I worked. Of course we had to make one more tent in the living room and gather one more bunch of weeds. I think the impending move was catching up to Kaitlyn. She had a rough day this week. How better to feel better than to be silly.
I love how the bold colors and patterns balance so well with the softer tones in some of the cards here. It has a nice flow coming down the page from top to bottom. The "receipt" card from the Everyday Life kit is my favorite card from the whole kit. I had been hording it till I got to this page.
Thank you for stopping to see my pages. Here is to a new month and new memories to scrap!
I am in major love with squares right now. Wether it's piecing papers or scrapping Instagram after Instagram, they're something that can be spotted on every page I make. Check out the two layouts below and see what I mean!
How about you, are you digging the square look?
The bright colours of the May Main and Add On kits were perfect for this photo I've been saving of my 13 yr old's birthday party.
The brick wall was a perfect background for the fun photo, but the many colours in it made it a little tricky to scrap with the most recent collections I have been working with. I really like the way the pink and green compliment the browns in the bricks, and shades of pink and red in the photo.
These fun gold puffy sentiments make great titles. And the little Fancy Pants Designs embellishments work well for clustering together.
Working with a patterned background can be tricky for some, but breaking it up in this way can make it easy to get use to. I basically created my background on an 8.5x11 piece of white cardstock, then placed it off off center on the 12x12 patterned paper. Adding the strip of black to the far side and then over lapping my journal spot helps tie the whole thing together.
Hello friends! Stephanie here with my final post for the month of May! Where has this year gone already? The design team had a great time with this May kit! We hope you did, too! Make sure to share your work in the forum so we can all see what you've been up to!
This super cute layout features a few of my favorite things! This beautiful
Just a friendly reminder to run, don't walk as soon as those June kit's are released! A little birdie told me they are perfect for summer and won't stick around for long!
Being the mom of boys, it is sometimes really hard to incorporate some of the color palettes I love into my layouts.. In this case, grabbing these old photos from 2003 was a great idea! They have a little fade and the colors work well with the colors in this month's kit.
This photo of my oldest who at that time was my only, was taken at a local conservation center that we visit religiously ever summer. We used to make it a picnic day with my Grandmother and all the cousins. When she passed, we kept the tradition, but it's usually just the three of us.
I love that this month's kit features so many elements from big to small that work well on any page. The feathers and the lined paper made this layout come together so effortlessly. I might be in love, just a little with those Amy Tan Remarks letters, too! Such lovely colors! I've started putting my handwriting on my pages more, but I'm still struggling to find a pen that doesn't skip, writes smoothly, and doesn't bleed.
I'd love if you shared the traditions you scrapbook about!
Thanks for visiting and remember next month's kit
Hello friends! Today I have a pretty pink pocket page for you. This is from about a week before we moved when we were still in New Mexico. I was feeling a bit down so I prettied myself up a bit, bought some pink flowers and played with my kiddos. I was supposed to be finishing up the packing and getting ready to move but I just couldn't. Although this move was exciting and we were all looking forward to it, it was hard. Sometimes you just need a little pink and a little pretty to get through.
I absolutely loved all the little bits and pieces in this months Everyday Life and details add on kits. Elle's Cienna bits and pieces and stickers really made this page come together quickly. A couple pretty cards and a few layers is all it needed to make the photos shine. I am going to be really glad for this memory recorded when my children are older. Especially since it appears we will have at least one more move ahead of us. Here's to adventure and new things, even if they do make us sad for a moment.
