I have been holding onto this photo that my daughter snapped one day while watching her friends practice before Pointe class.
This photo perfectly sums up why it is that so many little girls want to grow up to become ballerinas. There is just something so attractive about pretty, pink pointe shoes. Pair them with a beautiful tutu, and we're sold.
The colours in this month's kit are so soft and feminine it was finally time to scrap this memory. I used some 3D adhesive to pop the tiny close up photo off the page, and added a little chipboard butterfly and gemstone to embellish it, making it stand apart just a bit.
I am a sucker for seam binding , and love the Ria includes it so frequently in her kits. Here all I did was weave a piece of thread through it with a needle and gathered it a bit creating a pletes. I used my sewing machine to stitch it down. I am only sad that I did not place it a little further down from the base of my photo, I miscalculated how much of the pointe shoes would be covered once the ribbon was stitched down. Live and learn right? The key to layering that chipboard piece onto the metal arrow was to stitch it on, I love the way it looks, and now I know it will not fall off in a week.
How are you using your March kit. I would love to see some of your neat ideas. You can share them with us in the Paper Camellia gallery here
. I'll be sure to leave you some love.
Hey everyone, Amy here to share one last layout using the fabulous March kits! I loved every single part of this kit, and this layout came together so easily. Having a 3rd child later in life is hard for me, and doing this layout was so therapeutic and helped me remember how blessed I am that he's my bonus baby!
Here are some closeups.
I am still loving using gold on my projects, it's the perfect touch on every project I create! Stay tuned because the amazing April kits are coming soon! Have a happy Sunday.
Hello and Happy Friday! Jennifer
here today to share a layout I created using the very awesome March kit! I have loved playing with all of the beautiful papers and embellishments that are included in this month's kits! There is lots of Simple Stories, Jen Hadfield, and My Mind's Eye goodies to choose from!
I used one of the sentiment cards from Jen Hadfield's Sweet Greetings sheet as my tile. To accent, I added a chipboard flower from the 6x12 Simple Stories I Am Chipboard Sheet as well as a couple Jen Hadfield Jewel Stickers.
The hues of blue and pink are gorgeous together! Included in the Embellishment Add-On Kit are SIX sheets of I Am Sentiment Stickers! I added this "loved" sticker to the side of my photo.
Also included in the Embellishment Add-On kit is a 12x12 sheet of My Mind's Eye On Trend Chipboard stickers. This chipboard flower goes perfect with the Jen Hadfield Pink and Gold Dot paper!
At the top of my photo I added a chipboard feather from I Am, as well as another Jen Hadfield Jewel and a gold chipboard heart.
Thank you for looking today! Stop by the Paper Camellia shop to see what's available for this month and don't forget to check out the sneaks for April!
Have a great day!
If you're looking for a quick way to get pages done, designing on a grid is where it's at. Just choose whatever shapes and sizes you want and think about the grid placement. I put mine off to the side to switch things up a bit (I tend to go for a more centered look, typically.) . Pair printed Instagrams with cut up patterned paper squares and you have your self a layout!
Well, almost. You may want to add a title, journaling, and some embellishments. Then, bam! Done!
Try it! You may be surprised at how easily these projects come together... and then you just may enjoy living on the grid for awhile!
Happy Wednesday! How much are you LOVING this I AM line? I love that the kits coordinate so well together. Kind of takes the guesswork out of the process!
Normally, I start the foundation of my work on textured white cardstock, but I decided to go with black for this one. I LOVE how it turned out. It's unexpected, but the gold elements really come to the forefront!
I decided I wanted all the little bits in the kit on the layout somewhere and after I clustered them I knew it was exactly what I was looking for.
I hope you had fast fingers and were able to get your hands on this kit.
Be ready, April's kit is right around the corner!
