Everyday Family Moments

Posted on March 26, 2014 by

Hi Aimee here today. When I sat down to make this layout I really wanted to use triangles. I had seen a lot of layouts with them and wanted to try out this trend. So I punched out a bunch of triangles and pushed them around the page. Some how a few ended up in the pinwheel/flower shape and I went with it. None of the photos on this page are from a single place or event. Just random photos.

Again I used the Chickaniddy foil paper for a title. And again, it cut like butter. Using my Silhouette Cameo on the cardstock setting {3 blade 3 speed} it cut like butter. And how perfect are these cork butterflies?

A look at Everyday Life

Posted on March 22, 2014 by

Janice here on the blog today, to highlight a couple of ways I played with the March Everyday Life Kit to create pocket page cards.
Sewing on paper is still a new concept to me and I'm trying to include it more each month. I like that it's quick (my sewing machine sits plugged in, on my computer desk) and can add color and dimension to any layout.

I usually create and layout a card first, and then do the sewing last.

I'm hoping to visually tie all the different elements together using a variety of kit items.

Summer Time

White space... I love to see it on a layout, but I am sometimes afraid that my layout won't look finished. With the proper embellishments, that empty space can really help your pictures pop! There isn't a whole lot of space used on this layout but the placement of the embellishments help draw your eye to the picture. The gold Chickaniddy paper in the main kit is simply amazing and cut beautifully on my silhouette.

I was able to cut these tiny sequins from that paper. I scattered them on my layout making three points of a triangle that surrounded my photo. These three points help direct the attention to the picture.

Here is a close up of the tiny little sequins that were cut from the gold paper in the main kit:

What about you? Do you like to leave white space on your page or do you try to use up all the space on your layout?

Aimee here to share another layout I made using the March Main Kit. This one came together really fast using a sketch from Simple Scrapper. I collect all things Starbucks, and lately it’s been all about the mugs.

This one was brought to me by the manager of my local Starbucks. He went to Denver for one night to see the Broncos play and brought me back a souvenir! This defiantly rewards it’s own layout! Thanks John!

Hello Friends!

I am sharing a layout with you today using some of my scraps from the March kit. This was so easy to do and i'm sure you can do it as well!

You can use a silhouette cut file for your background or you can punch circles in a piece of cardstock - and  some companies sell placemats that you can use that are already pre cut for you!

I cut out my cardstock and placed it on another white piece of cardstock. I then placed my pattern paper circles behind the mask and sewed the edges. I added a few embellishments and VOILA! so much fun ;-) I'll be doing this format again for sure!

One Fine Day & Sketch Challenge

Posted on March 13, 2014 by

Today I am sharing a layout that I made using the sketch Kristine made for us. I love a grid sketch, they are so fun, and simple.

For a few of the “squares” I used some of the Crate Paper die cuts with foam adhesive for a “popped” up effect. I absolutely love how the colors of the March kit match my washed out photos taken from a warm January day in Cali.

What will you make with this sketch? It's not too late to enter our March sketch challenge. Just upload your layout to our Community Gallery by 3/26/14 10pm PST for a chance to win a $10.00 towards your next Paper Camellia purchase. Winner will be drawn at random from all entries. A closer look at Everyday Life

Posted on March 12, 2014 by

Hi there, Janice on the blog today and  I'm highlighting a page I created using the March Everyday Life Kit. I enjoyed playing and creating pocket pages with the kit, which was full of new CHA items.

This card was designed using circle punch outs of the beautiful papers, coordinating enamels and then was stitched together for visual cohesiveness.

This was my first time using paperclip words and boy, I had fun. I created a small collage of goodies and balanced them on the page with the picture of dinner. The "Hi" paperclip is clipped onto the cute, pink camera washi.
