my world (april 2015) | Everyday Life

Posted on July 17, 2015 by

For my last layout for April I am featuring my girls and the ferret.  The two brighten up my world so much.  They are sisters so it is never perfect but they love each other so much.  I adore when I catch them playing nicely together or whispering secrets to each other.

This layout was kept very simple.  There is a lot going on in the photos and too much "fluff" would have made it seem cluttered.  Now, the focus is on the photos.

the layout:

The softer colors and florals worked perfectly here as well.  The 3 photos of my youngest were more muted while the bottom two photos were more bright.  I was actually worried about placing these on the same page and even considered putting them on a smaller protector with each on their own side.  In the end I am glad I kept them on the same page.  It really makes their differing personalities shine.

So don't be afraid to use your busy photos or photos with different lighting and mood together.  Just keep things simple and let the focus stay on your beautiful memories.

April 2015 Continued | Everyday Life

Posted on June 27, 2015 by

Hello!  Brenda here again with another of my April pages.

This spread is about the kids first day back to school.  This time it was a new school.  In a new state.  With all new teachers and classmates.  I am so proud of my kids for being so resilient and not worrying about starting all over.  In fact, I think they were a bit excited. Of course Kaitlyn was a little unhappy with this.  She hugged her brother and sister several times before they got on the bus and cried when they left.  She waited for our neighbor to some outside and ran to see her.  I am so happy for wonderful neighbors.

Let's Celebrate & A Farewell

Posted on June 26, 2015 by

The June Main kit was so fun to use, everything I created had multiple patterned papers that I just had to use all on one layout.  This last layout for the month was no exception.
My baby girl turned 12 a couple of weeks ago, and that, of course called for a page in her honour.
The June kit was packed with so many gorgeous Pink Paislee chipboard pieces that I built my page entirely around them.
Layering and more layering was the recipe for getting as many fabulous little pieces onto one page. How fun it was to mix so many patterns too.  It's easy to do if you keep everything in moderation, not using competing patterns in close proximity.

If you look close enough here you will notice that the photos were printed just a tad smaller than the frames.  The layering and added embellishments, both hide the empty space, and add to the fun and flow of the design.

To keep the top frame cluster level I used a few 3D foam adhesive pieces underneath, they will help hold the bulk securely in place.

Lots of journaling on this page.  I really wanted to share the story of my girl at 12, and the way she fits so perfectly into our lives with her sweet, silly girl, funny self.
I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to share my work with all of you over these past 6 months.  Ria and Amy have been wonderful leaders and super supportive of the decision I've made to take an early departure from this wonderful team.  This girl of mine, her two sisters, and their dad are needing me to be a little more free around our home.  It has been a whirlwind of a season around here, lots of changes for all of us, including my going back to work full time.  It's pretty incredible the way a life can change so dramatically within 6 months.  Today, I thank you for taking the time to read my posts and encourage me with your "likes" and comments.  It has been a real pleasure hanging around with the Paper Camellia team, and all of you.  Thank you Ria for inviting me into your fold, and allowing me to show off your gorgeous kits.  I wish each of you all the best, I'm sure we'll be seeing each other around the world wide web real soon.

Travel log

Posted on June 25, 2015 by

Hi, It’s Veera here today to share a layout featuring 10 photos and a lot of journaling. The inspiration for this layout came from the Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy Number paper clips that were included in the June Embellishment add-on kit. I wanted to create a list of some sort and as I’m eagerly waiting for our next vacation I decided to create a travel log of our recent trips.

Behind the paper clips I layered circles that were cut from the Pink Paislee’s patterned paper. As I wanted the journaling to be the main focus of this layout I created a banner from the pictures. This way I was able to include all my favorite travel photos to one layout.

I only added a few carefully selected embellishments as I didn’t want to make the layout look too busy.

A bit unusual layout for me but I like the outcome! What is your record when it comes to number of pictures in one layout? 10 pictures is it for me!

April 2015 | Everyday Life

Posted on June 23, 2015 by

Well hello!  Brenda here with some more Everyday Life inspiration.  I am moving right along with my 2015 album.  This week I have some of April to share with you.  These are photos from our first few days of really enjoying our new home.  We got outside and played.  The kids went door to door looking for new friends.  Yep, my 7 year old literally went around knocking on our neighbors doors asking if they had any kids that wanted to come out and play.  haha  She is not shy at all.

I love the little bits of pretty pink with my favorite grey and blue in this kit.  I used just the main everyday life kit for these.  It is so pretty but had enough blue and neutral bits that I could still scrap a photo of my boy.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great week.

So Fancy

Posted on June 22, 2015 by

Hello and Happy Monday!  Jennifer on the blog today to share a layout I created with this month's Main Kit!  June's kits are full of gorgeous papers from Pink Paislee, American Crafts, Studio Calico, and Chickaniddy Crafts!  Also, the Main Kit has Exclusive Paper Camellia Wood and Acrylic Embellishments!    In honor of Father's Day, I scrapped a photo of my niece and brother-in-law at a recent Father-Daughter dance!
I used white/silver Thickers from Pink Paislee's Citrus Twist collection along with the fun Glitter Words for my title.   Also, included in the kit  are a full set of Citrus Bliss Chipboard Stickers such as this cute pink/white cabana striped heart.
Showing some of the many embellishments you receive in the Main Kit!  There is always so much to choose from!  I used more Citrus Bliss Chipboard Stickers along with Chickaniddy Crafts brads and Exclusive Paper Camellia Vellum Hearts.
For my background, I used a fun cut file from Just Nick Cut Files and added different patterned papers into random "petals".    Under my title, I used more of the Citrus Bliss Chipboard pieces, as well as more Exclusive PC heart wooden veneers!
This Exclusive circle embellishment is one of my favorites! I thought it made the perfect center to one of the flowers!
Thanks for reading today....check out the Paper Camellia shop for this kit plus many great Add-on Kits!  Have a great day!
