Hello everyone! Jen here today, sharing something I am really really excited about! When July's Everyday Life kit arrived something amazing happened to me... something I had been waiting to happen for nearly 3 years! I had the sudden inspiration and urge to get my wedding album done! It hadn't been completely unstarted... I had dabbled and done some 12x12 layouts and a few pocket pages here and there...but all months apart, with different materials, different inspirations and not giving any thought really on the larger picture of what it will all look like together in one album. When the July Everyday Life kit arrived I thought the colours would work wonderfully with some of my wedding photos.... and so, taking a look through what I had done so not to repeat a photo, I realised my wedding album was a nightmare for my OCD scrapping style! It was a mess! All different colours, all various styles... and none really representing my style that I love now. So I made the decision to restart! I have now made some style guidelines and a colour palette that I will follow closely.
My hope is that I can get at least one spread done every month. I ended up mixing this month's Everyday Life kit with June's Scrapbooking Main and Everyday Life kits and got working.
This was the first time I mixed pocket pages with 12x12 layouts and loved how they turned out. It's a great way to highlight my favorite photos of the day!
Thank you for stoping by the blog today.
How adorbs is the pink and green combo? I am a true fan of this months kit! It reminds me of a nice indie, whimsical cottage. This week was all about travel and my trip to Los Angeles for a Dodgers game I hosted while in Southern Cali.
The square letters are perfect for titling. If you have the patience, you can journal with them. But I decided to stack them as titles in a scrabble-tile like format.
The journal cards in the center, I just used the same continuous photos to keep the page pretty simple. I used an old vintage typewriter and started journaling then labeled it on the photos. I would suggest investing in a great typewriter. Mine is by Smith-Corona who still has ribbons out today!
There goes the journaling on strips again. It just adds a nice tough to the entire page with corresponding colors.
What do you think about the Freckled Fawn paper clips? Me -- I personally love them! Especially to clip photos down to a card!
Thanks for reading guys!
Hi everyone, Amy here to share another layout I created using the July kits. I'm pretty sure that the Big Sky patterned paper by Crate Paper was my favorite paper in the kit, so I was happy to use it on another layout.
I used some cut files from The Cut Shoppe, and this has become one of my favorite layouts ever!!
Thanks for stopping by the blog!
Hello everyone! Jennifer here to share a layout I created based on Kristine Davidson's fun sketch using the July Main and Add-On kits! I loved creating with the bright colors and patterns of this month's kit! The travel-themed papers and embellishments have been
fun to create with!
I layered different sized circles around my photo, as well as used die cut stars cut from my Silhouette. You can see one of the Travel Wood Nickels from Jillibean Soup that comes in the Add-On kit. These are a cute addition to your pages!
I also added one of the Freckled Fawn arrow clips to my photo! I love adding these....what a great accent! You receive three of the Arrow Clips in the Main Kit!
For my title, I used My Mind's Eye's Light Wood patterned paper and AC Fireberry Thickers. I used a portion of a cut file from the Silhouette shop.
Here, I added a sentiment from the Jillbean Soup Sightseeing Stickers along with a Travel Sprinkle and a My Mind's Eye Wood Arrow. One of the wonderful things about Paper Camellia's kits is that there is never a shortage of cute and fun embellishments!
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to link up your own layout for our sketch challenge for a chance to win $10.00 toward your next Paper Camellia purchase. Just upload your layout based on this month's sketch to our Community gallery HERE. Challenge winner will be drawn at random from all entries on July 28th, 2014 10am PST.
Have a great day!
Hi, it's Janice here on the blog today. It seems that Paper Camellia's kits only get better and better each month. After I finish creating spreads, I think, "That was the best kit ever!" Then the next kit arrives and I'm impressed all over again.
After I look through everything in my PC box that has just arrived, I usually look at all my photos from the current month. The fun part is matching accessories and paper in the kit to pictures I've taken.
In the end, it all seems to work together so well.
And best of all, I have fun playing and being creative.
Thanks for visiting today!
I've officially used up every last bit of my Everyday Life kit. I pulled these cards out early on knowing that I had a little overnight road trip and getaway planned with my husband. They fit the theme perfectly. This layout came together in less than 30 minutes. All I had to do was place the cards, layer on the last of my kit embellishments and adhere photos and a couple of journal strips. Then I sewed between the cards for a nice finishing touch and added some stickers and a stamp that I had in my stash. So quick and easy thanks to the kit. It's cool that we went on this mini-trip just last weekend and I already have it scrapped!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today, and keep using up every last bit of those kits!
